$1.6m on offer for being healthy
THE Queensland Government is offering $1.6 million in prize money for the state's healthiest community, school and workplace.
The Healthy Communities competition will reward initiatives that help Queenslanders eat, work and play better.
Premier Anna Bligh launched the scheme today shortly after riding 100km from Brisbane to the Gold Coast for charity.
"I say to communities all across Queensland ... let's get healthy, let's get fit, there's a $1m prize on offer,'' she said.
Communities, schools and workplaces must launch their own healthy project to enter the contest, which will then be judged.
