Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is investigating a quad bike incident that occurred at Alpha in Central Queensland.
A man was found deceased on 25 September 2013. It is believed he was mustering cattle and was not wearing a helmet. It appears his bike struck a concealed object, throwing him from it.
Investigations to establish the cause of the man's death are continuing.

This alert is a reminder for all quad bike users to:
- select the correct vehicle for the task
- always wear a helmet
- be aware of hazards such as tree stumps, rocks or wash outs that may be hidden by long grass or other vegetation when riding and mustering
- keep in contact with others to advise your location when working in remote and isolated areas.
